A Salute to our Roots

A Salute to our Roots

Teachers and grandparents both play important roles in our lives. Their wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love help shape a child’s growth and development. So they deserve to be honoured for their contributions to the growth and development of the next generation. Here are some of the most notable ways in which we celebrate Teacher’s Day & Grandparents Day at The Clay House to show our gratitude towards the 2 most important pillars in our lives:

TEACHER’S DAY

At TCH, we Celebrate Teachers’ Day as it helps students show their respect and admiration for their teachers, and fosters a strong teacher-student bond. It also emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and the role of teachers in shaping their mind and future. The celebration of Teachers’ Day presents an excellent way to express gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated educators who illuminate our paths. This is how we celebrate this day at The Clay House:

1. Conveying Appreciation Through Gratitude: children express their gratitude which goes beyond mere words by making heartfelt note or card which hold sentimental value and are cherished mementos of the strong bonds between educators and students.

2. Thoughtful Gifts: Some of the children bring thoughtful gifts for their teachers, like books, potted plants, or personalized stationery. These gestures symbolize their admiration and respect.

3. Teachers’ Day Speech: Our Runners & Flyers class children, prepare a meaningful Teachers’ Day speech to express their gratitude and admiration on behalf of their class.

4. Cultural Performances: Children organize cultural programs featuring dance, music, and drama performances. These artistic expressions beautifully convey Their gratitude and admiration.

5. Teacher-Student Role Reversal: Students become teachers for that day. Under the guidance of their educators, they step into their shoes and conduct a lesson. This role reversal offers the teachers a break and provides insights into the teaching profession.

At TCH, Teachers’ Day extends far beyond the confines of the classrooms and textbooks. It’s a day imbued with warmth and respect when we collectively express our gratitude to those remarkable individuals who have chosen a life dedicated to nurturing intellect and character.

GRANDPARENT’S DAY

Grandparents Day is a day to honour grandparents, recognize their role in families, and show them love and respect. It is also an opportunity for children to learn about the strength, guidance, and information that older people can provide. They provide us with unconditional love, kindness, patience, and life lessons. the role of Grandparents in all our lives, as Grandparents are “ A little bit of parents, a little bit of teacher and a little bit of friend”.

At TCH, this day is filled with oodles of blessings, happy faces, excitement and cheer as the budding stars of The Clay House display their love and affection for their grandparents. The students participate in multifarious cultural programmes to welcome their dada dadis and nana nanis. The icing on the cake is the gratitude performance by the tiny tots which has everyone glued to their seats and see the innocent faces expressing their heartfelt thanks for all the love received by the grandparents. The event is characterised by the sweet and savoury relationship between the two wherein the duo dance together with hands held together portraying their fondness and affection for each other. They try their hands at some creative crafts together. It is a moment of elation to see the happiness ushering in the faces of all the grandparents who make the most of this wonderful day with happiness.

Importance of these celebrations is to teach the children to show respect to their elders as they will receive the same love, care & respect when they grow up.
